An iconic cocktail, created by The Distillery Co Fiji for the Grand Pacific Hotel, that combines the best of handcrafted Fijian spirits, local produce and the rich traditions of the Grand Pacific Hotel. Enjoy this complex, refreshing drink while admiring the stunning views of Suva Harbour from one of the Pacific’s most renowned hotels.
The ingredients of this cocktail are a perfect reflection of the hotel’s history and the tradition of high tea culture from GPH. The tropical notes of Blue Turtle Gin, the muskiness of Earl Grey Tea and the marmalade notes from the Batiri Orange combine perfectly to create this iconic cocktail.
This iconic cocktail combines Fiji’s very own Blue Turtle Gin with the tastes of Fiji and the traditions and history of Fiji’s most celebrated hotel.
Pour 60mls of Blue Turtle Gin into a glass and steep one quality Earl Grey teabag for 10 minutes, occasionally jiggling. Be sure to stick to the timing and not overdue the infusion, as that would result in a bitter cocktail.
Muddle a 10cm piece of lemongrass, mint leaves, sugar syrup, and lime juice in a shaker or jar.
After the steeping, add the infused gin to the shaker along with solid clear ice.
Shake vigorously for two minutes. This is a very aerated cocktail, so it should have a frothy head when pouring.
Double-strain the mixture into a large goblet filled with solid ice.
Garnish with a lemongrass stalk and a dried batiri orange wheel.
